Meet Adweek's LGBTQ Stars; Previewing the Virtual NewFronts: Monday First Things First

Adweek Pride Stars Celebrates 15 LGBTQ Leaders in Sports, Media, Marketing and Culture Adweek spotlights talent from across the industry, from geographical to those who champion diversity, and now the first class of Pride Stars. This celebration features A-list celebrities and NFL coaches, brand-inclusion officers, company founders and more. Here's a small taste of who made the list: Actor Bowen Yang, who became Saturday Night Live’s first “gaysian” cast member in September 2019. Yvette Miley, svp, MSNBC and NBC News, who in addition to managing talent, Miley oversees weekend, overnight, breaking news and special-events programming on MSNBC and NBC’s Early Today broadcasts. Shelly McNamara, chief diversity and inclusion officer, P&G, who expanded the footprint of the company’s LGBTQ+ employee network, which now has more than 5,000 members in 43 countries. Opinion | How the LGBTQ Community Is Supporting One Another Virtually This Pride Month Rigel Cable, director of analytics and SEO at Astound Commerce, explained in this week's issue of Adweek magazine what the LGBTQ community is doing to feel more connected. In the piece, Cable makes it clear that it's critically important for brands to find new ways to support Pride, as the usual in-person avenues don't exist in 2020. Ahead of Postponed NewFronts, Industry Leaders Talk Virtual Format, Adapting to Covid-19 Each year, Adweek hosts a roundtable of some the brightest minds in media ahead of the NewFronts. This year, that meant a virtual talk ahead of the delayed event where the executives spoke about a range of topics, including a preview of the virtual format, how OTT exploded and whether a live event is necessary next year. This year's panel features the IAB's David Cohen, Hulu's Jim Keller, Condé Nast's Pamela Drucker Mann and more. One key takeaway?
