Maya Rudolph Plays 4 Miniature Cowboys in Klarna's First-Ever Super Bowl Ad

Her 'quarter-sized' characters drive home a message about what the app offers

Maya Rudolph has quadrupled herself for Klarna’s first Super Bowl ad.

In the 30-second commercial, she plays not one but four shrunken cowboys, each atop their own mini horse. The cloning isn’t simply a gimmick but a clever (if bizarre) way to illustrate how the payment company works: Users have the option of several “buy now, pay later” plans, one of which lets people pay for items they’ve bought in four interest-free installments.

Hence, Rudolph is playing four “quarter-sized” characters to drive home the message.

The spot opens with the four cowboys making their way through an old Western town, singing These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ in unison while townspeople gawk at their small size.
