In the top role, IPG Mediabrands said in a statement that Zonfrillo will be responsible for overseeing annual media negotiation seasons and processes worldwide to ensure that the network “secures the most advantageous media rates and commercial terms on behalf of and in alignment with each client’s unique marketing strategy and objectives.”

Existing client growth and recent critical account wins including of Accenture, Converse, Revlon, Coach, Spotify and Lego “made this the right time to strive to increase the performance and productiveness of our media investment function by creating a new global role at Magna,” Philippe Krakowsky, IPG Mediabrands chairman and CEO, said in a statement. “Andy brings a powerful combination of both local and global investment expertise, as well as a deep background in all aspects of media … we believe we’ve found the right leader to unify and amplify our global investment and negotiation functions.”

According to his LinkedIn account, Zonfrillo most recently was global managing director at MCap, a media investment firm. Before that, he served as Omnicom Media Group’s global head of trading from 2014 to June of 2017.

He also held two stints at Mindshare, first as broadcast director and then head of exchange and second as global head of trading, commerce and new platforms. In between, Zonfrillo served two years as global head of client pricing at GroupM.

“The media market continues to innovate with data, technology solutions and media choice all having roles to play,” Zonfrillo added in a statement. “I am very much looking forward to working with the teams at IPG Mediabrands and their clients in helping evolve how we work with media owners to best capitalize [on] these opportunities.”
