How Asians in Advertising Aims to Build Up AAPI Leaders With Breaking Barriers Summit

Co-founders Bernice Chao and Jessalin Lam share how the 2-day event is a must for the ad industry

Don't miss ADWEEK House at Cannes, June 16-19. Join us as we celebrate our 45th anniversary and explore the industry's now and next. RSVP.

Asians in Advertising (AIA) has accomplished a lot in the 13 months since its inception. Co-founded by Zambezi’s head of integrated creative, Bernice Chao, and IAB’s vp of membership development and diversity, Jessalin Lam, the non-profit organization managed to host 12 events in 2021 alone, quickly establishing itself as a burgeoning voice in AAPI advocacy.

Now, AIA prepares for its biggest effort yet, the Breaking Barriers summit. Touted by the organization as the first-ever two-day summit for AAPI folks in advertising, comms and media, Breaking Barriers will see some of the industry’s most prominent advocates take the virtual stage, including keynote speakers Cindy Gallop and Stop AAPI Hate co-founders Cynthia Choi and Manjusha Kulkarni.
