Miami-based creative agency El Autobús was recently acquired by Anchor Worldwide. But that doesn’t come close to telling the agency’s whole story, about two Venezuelan ad creatives who rose to the top of their game, then had to flee an oppressive regime, only to come out better for it a decade later in their adopted home of Florida.

El Autobús founders Roberto Fonfría and Simón De Franca were doing well in Caracas, Venezuela, in the early 2000s, leading creative departments of large agencies in the country including DDB and Ogilvy.
