Putting a beloved horse in a situation of near death might not seem like a likely subject for a Super Bowl ad, but Budweiser and Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao went there to make a point about the resilience of America.

“A Clydesdale’s Journey” sees a Budweiser Clydesdale running across a high mountain plain, watched by his faithful retriever we first encountered in the adorable “Puppy Love” spot. As the large equine creature tries to jump a fence, it is tripped up.
