LONDON—In the U.K., it’s not uncommon for grandparents to have various Royal memorabilia dotted around the house, either proudly on display or gathering dust with other long-forgotten tat in the garage.

This is because it has long been a tradition for the Royal Family (and other savvy manufacturers) to release commemorative plates to mark certain special occasions such as the Queen’s Coronation and Golden Jubilee, or to celebrate the marriage of princes and princesses.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Creme Egg, Cadbury has created its own tongue-in-cheek “Golden Goobilee”—and it’s releasing a limited-edition commemorative plate to mark the event, with help from media agency Carat and creative shop Elvis, which has created a social video for the campaign.
