British retailer Bensons for Beds has handed its eight-figure media planning and buying contract to the7stars as the company begins a three-year growth strategy.

Backed by European retail sector investor Alteri after it was brought out of administration in 2020, the bed and mattress retailer currently owns 179 stores across Britain, as well as running an online sales platform.

The contract, which begins from this month, follows a four-way pitch run by The Aperto Partnership and will see Bensons task the agency with leading its integrated media strategy, planning and activation across its three-year growth plan.

Helen Nunn, marketing director for Bensons for Beds, said in a statement that the appointment had been made ahead of the three-year transformation programme with the aim of reaching new audiences.
