Tubular Labs, the leader in global social video intelligence and measurement, today announced technology industry veteran Jon Baron has joined its executive team, serving as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Tubular Labs, the leader in global social video intelligence and measurement, today announced technology industry veteran Jon Baron has joined its executive team, serving as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Jon is reporting directly to company CEO Scott Ernst. In his new role, Baron will lead sales and customer success teams to foster deeper relationships with brands, media companies and agencies, as Tubular continues its global growth trajectory.

Top global media companies, digital-first publishers and brands across 18 industries trust Tubular for social video insights and measurement. With billions of views every day on social media, the battle for attention means that brands need to better understand where the audiences are and invest in societal shifts to be culturally relevant.

Tubular has helped set the standard for cross-platform metrics that help brands better understand their audiences. Among them, Tubular’s Audience Ratings product suite, the first of its kind measurement offering that provides audience insights including unique reach, frequency and cross-platform metrics. In this next evolution for Tubular, the company is looking to expand its work with agencies and brands and recently launched its ecommerce measurement solution which helps brands understand the purchase journey from social video viewing to sales outcomes — specifically, shopping activity on Amazon.

“This is an exciting time in our evolution as we’ve set ambitious goals for Tubular’s growth with brand customers, and how they transact on the evolving social video landscape,” said Scott Ernst, CEO of Tubular Labs. “Jon is a seasoned leader with deep expertise in social media and marketing technologies. His proven track record growing companies and forging successful partnerships with global brands, agencies, publishers and data providers, makes him uniquely suited for this role and what lies ahead for Tubular.”

“Tubular Labs has a massive market opportunity to help bridge the knowledge gap between the buy and sell side when it comes to video viewership. As an authority in global video measurement across social media platforms, I’m proud to be part of the team to accelerate adoption and scale for our customers,” said Baron. “I look forward to leading the company’s growth strategies for customers both domestically and abroad across all product offerings, as Tubular continues to connect brands directly to culture through social video.”

Baron continued, “Audience, viewership and demographics are changing as young people flock to social and connected TV formats, and away from linear TV. This shift in behaviors is creating a new opportunity in how audiences are measured and marketed to by brands, publishers and agencies,” said Baron. “It is clear that global brands need social video data and insights for proper planning and execution and specifically for understanding reach and frequency. Tubular is the partner that provides that.”

Baron joins Tubular with more than 20 years of experience driving global expansion efforts for adtech, media and data enterprise companies. He most recently served as CRO for Affinio (NowVertical Group). Under his leadership, Affinio expanded to become a cutting-edge audience insights and privacy-safe customer analytics platform, resulting in a successful acquisition by NowVertical Group in November 2021. Prior to Affinio, Baron served as president of Bamboo Rose, CRO of IgnitionOne, CEO and Co-Founder of TagMan, among others.
