Dana Hursey Gives Back

Photographer Dana Hursey worked with Pasadena non-profit, Friends in Deed, to promote their fundraising event, “Cooking for a Cause.”

On June 23rd Friends in Deed, a Pasadena based Non-Profit, that supplies food, shelter, and support to the local community had a fundraising event that they branded “Cooking for a Cause.”  Working with with ICE (Institute of Culinary Education) they created a “Top Chef” styled cooking competition where student teams would create unique dishes from only food available at the Friends in Deed Food Pantry.
To promote the event beforehand, Dana Hursey shot these engaging, white on white portraits that focus on the young, confident personalities of each of the team members that were then used to announce the campaign, engage with the community, and successfully entice donors and sponsorship.
As of the June 23rd event, the donations have exceeded $100,000.00, which will go directly to support the FID Food Pantry and needs of the community.
