The NBA’s hiring of magician David Blaine as a spokesman this past spring is looking like a smarter decision every day. These days the league is surely thankful to have a guy on staff who’s experienced in getting out of tough situations, and who can even make stuff disappear sometimes. Blaine’s campaign for the NBA playoffs was all about explaining the inexplicable, so perhaps this week he can help commissioner David Stern with his press releases.
