AT&T is in the fight of its life to keep its $39 billion merger with T-Mobile alive. As the Department of Justice's suit against the merger gets under way (the trial begins Feb. 13), AT&T launched a TV ad Wednesday on Washington, D.C., news programs, and a print ad earlier in the week in the Washington Post and local Capitol Hill publications, saying the merger will lead to more U.S. jobs. "With the planned merger with T-Mobile, AT&T will begin to bring 5,000 jobs to America from overseas," the ads say.
