WXIN in Indianapolis Launches Job Creation Campaign to Boost Local Economy

By Merrill Knox

WXIN, the Fox-affiliate in Indianapolis, has launched a new campaign to get local businesses to start hiring.

The initiative, which was announced on last night’s 10 p.m. newscast (video above) by anchors Bob Donaldson and Fanchon Stinger, is called “Add One Job.” The station is encouraging businesses to hire one person in the Indianapolis region, where the unemployment rate is 8.7 percent.

“Fox 59 is issuing a challenge to all of Central Indiana tonight,” Stinger said. “We are talking to small businesses, large businesses, business owners and business leaders. We are asking you to add one job.”

The station — who will hire one person to get the campaign started — will showcase the companies that take the challenge on their newscasts, as well as on the initiative’s website, addonejob.com.
