By Merrill Knox

nicole penceIndianapolis Fox affiliate WXIN is launching 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts this year, vice president and general manager Paul Rennie has announced.

Nicole Pence, who left rival WTHR in November, will join the station as anchor of the 11 p.m. newscast, “NewsPoint.” The station says the newscast will be “a concise wrap-up of the day’s events” with “a distinct look and feel from the rest of FOX59’s newscasts seen throughout the day.” It will debut at the end of June.

“Nicole brings to NewsPoint instant credibility and familiarity for 11pm news viewers,” Rennie said. “We couldn’t be happier that she is part of the FOX59 News team.”

Bob Donaldson and Fanchon Stinger, who anchor the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts, will add the 7 p.m. newscast to their anchor duties when it debuts later this fall.

“Over the past several years, FOX59 News has seen tremendous growth in terms of news hours and viewers. The addition of the FOX59 News at 7 and NewsPoint at 11pm is the next logical step in our expansion,” Rennie said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring viewers in Central Indiana more options to watch news when and how they want it.”
