The station announced the news on its website and on the 5 p.m. newscast Wednesday, describing Trager as “an accomplished journalist, caring family-man, and a friend to many.” Trager joined WWTV in 1990 and spent several years as sports director before transitioning to the station’s news desk.

“For over 20 years Scott Michael Trager has been part of the 9&10 News family. From his dynamic sports reporting to his professional yet funny personality he showed at the anchor desk, his impact will never be forgotten,” WWTV station owner Mario Iacobelli said in a statement.
