WWAY has posted video of news director Scott Pickey being arrested Monday after disobeying a traffic officer at Wilmington’s MLK parade (above).
Pickey’s arrest came after a dispute with police officers monitoring the parade route. The city’s parade went right by the station, and police refused to let employees through during a break in the parade to cover breaking news, according to WWAY.

Despite multiple requests from Pickey, the officers refused to let anyone through until after the parade’s conclusion. Pickey was charged with failure to obey a traffic officer and reckless operation after he drove his station vehicle out of the parking lot during a break in the parade.
