WVLT Names Lena Sadiwskyj VP of News

Knoxville’s WVLT has named a replacement for Steve Crabtree, who announced in January that he was leaving his vice president of news post. WVLT, which goes by the name Volunteer TV, announced this week that it has hired Lena Sadiwskyj to oversee its news operations.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to join the Volunteer TV management team, and to work with the outstanding group of professionals in the newsroom,” Sadiwskyj said. And “as a country music fan who loves college sports, I’m happy to wear the orange and white and make Knoxville home.”

Previously, Sadiwskyj held the news director position at Tucson’s KGUN for three and a half years before departing in 2009 amid sinking ratings. She has most recently been working as editor-in-chief of Taptu, a personalized news platform for iPhone and Android.
