WTVT Names Linda Hurtado Anchor, Promotes Reporter

By Kevin Eck

Linda Hurtado has been named anchor of the 5 p.m. and Noon newscasts for Tampa Fox-owned station WTVT.

Hurtado left Tampa’s WFTS in May after 20 years there. At the time she said she “wanted to take a break and slow down.”

“Linda is a well-known talent in the Tampa Bay television market and a welcomed addition to Fox 13,” said vp of news John Hoffman. “Her dedication to the community is very strong, evidenced through her time spent in the field fighting cancer or representing our area’s growing Hispanic community. She will be a strong addition to the Bay Area’s strongest television station.”

WTVT also named reporter Alcides Segui co-anchor of the weekend morning show. Segui, who will work alongside Anjuli Davis, has worked at WTVT since 2008. He was a reporter and anchor for WWSB in Sarasota, Fla. before that.
