WSPA morning news anchor Fred Cunningham took away a few lessons after handling 7+ hours of snowstorm coverage on Monday.
-Our news director, Dan Cates, was really smart in the way he asked if Dan, Diane and I would do a sixth hour of Daybreak from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. We’d been on the air since four o’clock Monday morning at that point. He made it seem like it was our idea.
– It’s the job for someone at the South Carolina Department of Transportation to calculate that workers are using 4,025 tons of salt, 1,130 tons of sand and over 322,000 gallons of brine.
– If we’re going to do six hours of live TV, we’re going to need a larger recycle bin for our scripts. (See photo)
