WSMV, the Meredith owned NBC affiliate in Nashville, Tennessee, has named a new general manager.
Dale Woods will replace Doreen Wade, who left the station in June. He begins August 28.
“Dale has an impressive industry background and brings a long record of success to WSMV-TV,” said Paul Karpowicz, president of local Meredith media. “His commitment to local news and weather, along with his ability to drive revenue growth, will have a tremendous impact on our Nashville team.”
He joins Meredith from WHO-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, where he has served as general manager since 2007. During his time at WHO-TV, the station showed dramatic ratings growth in all its newscasts, and Woods was named General Manager of the Year by Broadcasting and Cable Magazine in 2012.
Prior to WHO, he served as general manager for stations in Iowa, Texas and Montana.
