WSB’s Monica Pearson Diagnosed With Liver Cancer

Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB reports longtime anchor Monica Pearson has been diagnosed with liver cancer. Pearson says doctors removed part of her liver, but she’s doing well. “I am fine,” Pearson told WSB’s Jocelyn Dorsey. “I didn’t want to tell anyone until I was through it.”

In 1998, Pearson was treated for breast cancer discovered during a routine mammogram. The liver cancer–which showed no symptoms–was detected during an annual physical. “If it can happen to me, it can happen to you. Don’t be afraid.”
