Misti Turnbull has been named news director of Cox-owned Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB.
She’s been managing editor for the last three and a half years of her 16 years at WSB. Before coming to WSB, she worked at KMGH in Denver. She’s worked as a producer and ep at KRDO in Colorado Springs, Colo. She started her career at WAVY in Norfolk, Va. and later worked at WTKR.
“We have tremendous confidence in Misti’s leadership, editorial judgment and knowledge of what it takes to be WSB-TV’s News Director,” said WSB vp and gm Tim McVay.

Turnbull replaces Mike Dreaden, who was named vp of News and Marketing for Television for Cox Media Group.
