Screven joined WRGB in 1978 and has served as the station’s Albany bureau chief. Through the years, he became known for his thoughtful approach to reporting stories that involved tragedy and loss.

“When Ken did a story, it was a lot more personal,” WRGB reporter Liz Bishop told the Times Union. “Whenever there was a tragedy, a life cut too short, there was no question, Ken was the one we wanted to go out and do that story, because we knew he would come back and put his heart in it.”
