WRGB Sports Anchor Joining ESPN

WRGB sports director Doug Sherman is joining ESPN as a play-by-play announcer.

The Times Union reports Sherman will make the move when his contract expires Oct. 31.

“That’s what I’ve been doing for several years,” Sherman told The Times Union. “It’s working two full-time jobs from September through April. That’s eight months a year working two jobs, plus travel. It’s not like you’re working two jobs, one in Clifton Park and one in Niskayuna. One of the jobs, you’re on the road all the time. It was time for one or the other, and within the last year, ESPN offered a full-time job. I took that.”
