WPIX’s Marvin Scott to be Inducted into New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame

marvin scottWPIX correspondent and host Marvin Scott will be inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame in June. Scott has worked at the Tribune-owned CW affiliate in New York City since 1980.

“In a city of icons, Marvin stands at the top of the pack. He knows everybody, has covered everything, and approaches every story with tenacity, energy, a sense of competitiveness, and above all, heart,” WPIX news director Mark Effron said in a statement.

Scott is the station’s senior correspondent and host of “PIX News Close Up,” a weekly issues-oriented newscast. The induction ceremony will take place June 13 at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan.

“I am honored and humbled by this special recognition of my extraordinary and rewarding career, a career that continues to inspire and invigorate me,” Scott said.
