mathieu donut woaiDelaine Mathieu won’t be sitting in the WOAI anchor chair for a bit after she broke her tailbone in an obstacle course race last weekend.

Blaise Labbe, news director for the San Antonio NBC affiliate, confirmed with MySanAntonio.com Mathieu will be out all week with the injury.

“Sitting is definitely an issue,” said Mathieu. “I’m on pain meds right now so reading is an issue as well…not to mention driving!”

On her facebook page, Mathieu posted a shot of the donut she needs to sit on with the comment, “When life gives you a donut and WAY too much free time…..#dyingofboredom

She said she also suffered a cut and bruise on her arm during Saturday’s Gladiator Rock ‘n Run in San Antonio.

“There was a rock sticking up through the slide,” Mathieu said. “The doctor told me one guy cut his face, another person cut their scalp and a girl cut open her hand…all on that slide!”

According to the race website, “The course challenges all participants to conquer extreme obstacles and harsh terrain, then to celebrate their conquests with a bad-ass post race party filled with music, beer and food.”
