“Duke’s breadth of experience as an anchor and reporter, as well as his local knowledge of the region and its newsmakers, make him an ideal fit for WCVB,” said general manager Bill Fine.

“I am very excited to join WCVB, the station I grew up watching in Marshfield, and I look forward to contributing to this legacy news organization,” said Castiglione. “Most of all, I am thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to be coming back home and work at the station I always dreamed of working at, Channel 5.”

The Boston native will co-anchor with Nichole Berlie.

Prior to WNYW, Castiglione was a sports reporter for WHDH in Boston. Before that, Castiglione was the morning sports anchor and reporter for New York’s WCBS-TV. Castiglione was also the host of NY1’s live call-in program “Sports on 1.” He is a recipient of an Associated Press Award for “Best Sports Show.”
