WNYW Leads Social in New York Market

Fox-owned station WNYW was tops in social rankings for the New York City market from January 9 to February 8, according to Share Rocket.

WNYW increased its lead to a full 10 points over second-place ABC-owned WABC on the strength of its Facebook page. WNYW came in with a 40 Share overall, WABC had a 30, Tribune-owned WPIX came in with a 12, and NBC-owned WNBC was fourth with an 8.4 share.

WABC was the market leader on Twitter and Instagram with a 34.5 share on Twitter and a 41.3 on Instagram. WABC chief meteorologist Lee Goldberg helped his station out by having the highest share among individuals in the market on Twitter with a 3 score. WABC meteorologist Amy Freeze had the biggest individual page on Instagram in the market with a 7.7 share.

Ayana Harry from WPIX was one of the biggest gainers in the market. She upped her market share on Facebook by 306 percent and increased her Facebook audience by 29.2 percent, moving her from 28 among individuals in the previous 30 days to six.
