Baltimore ABC affiliate WMAR will debut a revamped 6 p.m. newscast that concentrates on in-depth and original reporting, “ABC2 In Focus,” tonight.
“We’ve noticed a thirst in the market for in-depth stories,” WMAR news director Kelly Groft said in a statement. “We’ll always cover the news of the day, it’s just now, at 6pm, we’ll slow down a bit, dig deeper, and ask more questions.”
WMAR says the “unique and innovative” program will be led by a “crack team of investigative journalists and producers,” but did not specifically name them. The newscast will also feature additional original content online.
