WLS Traffic Reporter Roz Varon to Undergo Surgery for Breast Cancer

Roz Varon, the morning traffic and transportation reporter at Chicago’s WLS, has revealed that she will undergo surgery for breast cancer today (video after the jump).

“After seven years of being cancer free, my doctors found a new breast cancer,” Varon, a two-time breast cancer survivor, said on the ABC O&O’s morning newscast Monday. “…It’s in its earliest stage, stage zero. So don’t worry. It’s non-invasive, it’s very treatable.”

Varon said she expects to return to WLS on September 23. [h/t Robert Feder]
