WLS Swaps Meteorologists on 10 p.m. Newscast

By Kevin Eck

Starting Monday, August 1, WLS meteorologist Jerry Taft will hand over the 10 p.m. forecasting duties to Cheryl Scott.

Taft will continue to forecast weather for the Chicago ABC-owned station’s 6 p.m. newscast and the 7 on WCIU. Scott will stay on at 4 and 5 p.m.

“After all the late nights doing weather for more than 20 years, I’m really looking forward to handing off the late shift to someone who is as passionate about weather as Cheryl Scott,” said Taft. “It will be great to get home at a decent hour and hit the sack earlier. Maybe the extra sleep will improve my golf game.”
