Micki Byrnes has been named VP & station manager of Cleveland NBC affiliate WKYC.
“She has made significant contributions to WKYC and Gannett during her career and I look forward to seeing her continued success in this new leadership role,” Dave Lougee, Gannett’s president of broadcasting said in a statement.
Byrnes came to WKYC in 1997 as director of marketing and promotion. Three years later, she was named VP of Advertising and Promotion.
“It will be an exciting and challenging role, one that I’ve spent the last 17 years building towards,” said Byrnes. “Northeast Ohio is a dynamic television market and I plan to keep WKYC in the forefront of winning news coverage with a strong brand tied to our growth as a region, and world class consumer service.”
Brooke Spectorsky will remain president GM and SVP of Gannett Broadcasting.
