WKBW Catches Police Officer Beating Man on Camera

By Aneya Fernando

WKBW3A photographer at Buffalo ABC affiliate WKBW caught a police officer beating a man in a popular bar district early on Thanksgiving morning. The video has just been released, and it’s causing quite a stir.

In it, you can see Officer Corey Krug confront a man who was apparently about to get into a fight. The confrontation quickly turned physical, with Krug slamming the man onto the hood of a car, pushing him to the pavement and repeatedly hitting him with his baton, yelling at him to ‘Get up!’ That’s when other officers rushed to the scene, warning Krug that he was being filmed (by a WKBW photographer, who was following police officers on the job that day). Krug eventually let the man walk away. He was not arrested.

WKBW showed the tape to Buffalo Police commissioner Dan Derenda and Krug was suspended indefinitely without pay.
