Scripps-owned Buffalo ABC affiliate WKBW has hired Charlie Specht as an investigative reporter.
In 2013, he left his job as a newspaper reporter to work as director of community development for the Village of Williamsville.
The Buffalo News reports Specht was an intern at WIVB in Buffalo in 2007.

The News reports the station’s previous owner cut the investigative team WKBW was known for.
“In conferring with senior Scripps management, it was collectively agreed that the station was ready for the next logical progression in its rebuild process with the addition of investigative reporting,” said Nurse.,” WKBW GM Michael Nurse told The Buffalo News.
