WKBN Names Chief Meteorologist

By Kevin Eck

Paul Wetzl has been named chief meteorologist at WKBN.

Wetzl has worked at the Youngstown, Ohio CBS affiliate for more than 15 years. He first started in 1998, left in 2011 and came back in 2014. He replaces Don Guthrie, who recently died of cancer.

“This area, this job, it’s a dream come true,” said Wetzl. “It’s hard to follow in the footsteps of a legend like Don Guthrie, but the knowledge I gained working alongside him for more than a decade is immeasurable. I am truly honored.”
