WJBK Remembers GM Jeff Murri Following Sudden Death: ‘This Place Will Never Be the Same’

By Andrew Gauthier

The hosts of WJBK‘s morning show “The Nine” shared their memories of general manager Jeff Murri today.  Murri died suddenly on Thursday at the age of 50.

“The whole thing is quite amazing to me because just two days ago I was talking to the guy,” Lee Thomas said.  “We sang songs together.  We’ve shared life.  It’s like a part of you is missing truly because he meant so much to each and every one of us.”

“He was very much a cheerleader,” remembered Jason Carr.  “If he liked something you did, you knew it.  And if you let him down, you knew it.  But, you know what, you knew where you stood.”

“This place will never be the same without him,” Deena Centofanti added.  “He was an enormous presence in this building.”
