After more than 30 years at WSOC, Don Griffin (left) is set to retire in September. Jason Stoogenke (right) will take his place as the Charlotte ABC affiliate’s consumer reporter.

“Viewers will miss his sincere, no nonsense approach to his reporting.  When people needed help, they knew they could turn to Don to resolve their consumer problems,” WSOC vice president and general manager Joe Pomilla said in a statement. “It has been my pleasure to work with Don and I admire him for his personal dedication to our community.”

Stoogenke, who has been reporting on civic and government issues for WSOC since 2006, will step into his new role in early September.
