A weekend of severe weather hit a couple of local TV stations in the middle of the country.
In Denver, lightning knocked NBC affiliate KUSA off the air during the 9 p.m. show on MyNet affiliate KTVD. The station reported that “[e]mployees heard a loud clap of thunder and then the fire alarms inside the building started sounding. Firefighters from the Denver Fire Department also responded.”
KUSA anchor Adele Arakawa tweeted out some scary video of the lightning hit.

The station was back up by the 10 p.m.
In Rockford, Illinois, a downed tree blocked the entrance to ABC and Fox affiliate WTVO-WQRF.
The station told viewers on its facebook page. “LOOK: A tree blocks the entrance to the WTVO-TV/WQRF-TV studio this morning. Storm damage can affect anyone, even us.”
