WHAS News Director Mark Neerman Resigns

WHAS news director Mark Neerman has resigned from the Louisville ABC affiliate, effective immediately, TVSpy has learned.

WHAS general manager Linda Danna announced the news to staffers in an email this afternoon. The email included a statement from Neerman, who said he is “ready for the next challenge.”

“I’ve been very lucky to work with the first-rate team at WHAS 11 and I know they will continue to lead the way in a very competitive market,” Neerman said. “I’m considering a number of options and I look forward to what lies ahead.”

Neerman joined WHAS in 2009 from KNTV in San Francisco, where he was the assistant news director. He previously worked as ND for KVVU in Las Vegas and WTVR in Richmond, Va.

Assistant news director Jim Hice and executive newsroom producer Lena Moore will remain in their current roles, reporting to Danna, until a new news director is named.

Danna did not respond to a request for comment from TVSpy.
