By Kevin Eck

WFRV in Green Bay, WI has unveiled a few changes to both its lineup and its leadership.

As expected, Kent Harrell has been named news director for the CBS affiliate.  Harrell, who comes from WTVO-WQRF in Rockford, IL, will be reunited with vice president and general manager Joe Denk who left that station last year to lead WFRV.

“As the former general manager of WQRF in Rockford, Illinois, I had the pleasure of working with Kent for many years,” Denk said in a statement. “With his extensive broadcast knowledge and industry experience, I am confident that Kent is the right person to lead our news initiatives at WFRV. We look forward to his contributions in his new role as we build upon our commitment to bring high-quality local news programming to our viewers while offering results-driven marketing opportunities for our advertisers.”

As we also reported last week, the station has launched an hourlong newscast at 4:00 p.m. anchored by Kris Schuller.  The station also extended its half-hour at 6 p.m. to a full hour.
