WFAA’s Brett Shipp Shoved By Dallas Politician

By Merrill Knox

WFAA reporter Brett Shipp was involved in a physical confrontation with Dallas county commissioner John Wiley Price Wednesday morning at Price’s office.

Shipp — who can be seen in video of the incident wearing a blue shirt and sunglasses — was attempting to speak with Price, who has been under intense scrutiny this summer after his home and office were raided by the FBI in June as part of a political corruption investigation.

In Shipp’s account of the confrontation, which is posted on the WFAA website, he says that Price threatened to “split his throat open.” Shipp, who has been an investigative reporter for the station since 1995, was unharmed in the incident.
