WFAA Makes Fill-In Co-Anchor Permanent, Moves Carla Wade to Weekend Mornings

wade_conomosAlexa Conomos (pictured right) is now the full time co-anchor for News 8 Daybreak on WFAA.

Conomos has been filling in on the Dallas ABC affiliate’s morning show for Cynthia Izaguirre who moved to evenings earlier this year.

“Alexa is a parent and relates to so many of our viewers trying to get children up, and out the door every morning,” executive news director Carolyn Mungo said in a statement. “Her concerns are their concerns, and she brings a special warmth to the broadcast.”

Conomos has worked at WFAA for 12 years. She started as a traffic reporter after working at Texas Cable News and KMIR in Palm Springs, CA.

The station also announced that Carla Wade will move from anchoring Sunday nights to weekend mornings while contuing to report.
