WFAA Anchor Gloria Campos to Retire

WFAA veteran anchor Gloria Campos has announced she will retire after nearly 30 years at the Dallas-Forth Worth ABC affiliate.

Along with Campos’ retirement, the station named Cynthia Izaguirre as Campos’ replacement on the 10:00 p.m. news when Campos retires in March. Izaguirre will also anchor at 5:00 p.m.

Campos started her career ar KGBT in Harlingen, TX. She began working at WFAA in 1984 as the station’s first Latino anchor. In 2012, she reduced her hours to only anchoring at 10:00 p.m. so she could focus more time on her family.

Her last broadcast will be Friday, March 7.
