By Kevin Eck

We reported in February, Evansville, Ind. CBS affiliate WEVV was launching a newscast somewhere between July and September.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports, WEVV has announced four anchors who it says will form “the core of its evening news operation.”

Amanda Decker and Chris Cerenelli will anchor the newly launched evening newscasts. Decker comes from Independent News Network in Little Rock, Ark. while Cerenelli comes from Nashville’s WTVF where he was the assignment editor. He had been a reporter at WKEF-WRGT in Dayton, Ohio.

Rounding out the team will be Chad Evans, who will be chief meteorologist and Andrew Keesee, who will be the station’s sports director. Evans comes from WLFI in Lafayette, Ind. while Keesee comes from KWES in Midland, Texas.

The Courier & Press has more details:

According to a news release, the news set will be in the former WTVW building at 477 Carpenter St. in Evansville.

Bayou City Broadcasting Evansville purchased WEVV from Nexstar in a deal that closed earlier this year. The station has been without a news operation since 2001.

WEVV is affiliated with both CBS and Fox. CBS programming airs on the station’s primary channel, which is 44.1. Fox programming airs on its secondary channel, 44.2.
