It was a windy (and expensive) morning on Friday for KECY, the Fox affiliate in Yuma. During Anna Chaulk and Eduardo Santiago’s live shot from the Imperial Valley Mall, the lights blew over twice, leaving the pair in the dark.
Santiago was able to make a diving catch to save the light during the first hit, but the second time they blew over, they crashed audibly to the ground behind the camera. Chaulk, the station’s primary anchor, had to throw it back to the studio: “We’re gonna have to run because our light’s catching on fire,” she said. Watch:
