Lauren Jiggetts has left Chicago NBC-owned station WMAQ after, Robert Feder reports, she chose not to renew her contract.
Feder says Jiggetts did so, “in order to pursue other opportunities in Chicago television. Her last day at NBC 5 was Wednesday.”
“I made the difficult decision to leave NBC5,” Jiggetts wrote on her Facebook page. “I am not leaving the news business, but feel this is the right move for me personally and professionally. I am so thankful for the last 10 years and all the friendships I have made over that time. I have had the opportunity to work with some wonderful people and I am leaving with gratitude in my heart. I’m going to take some time off to be with family and then…BACK TO WORK! Thank you for your support- it means so much to me!!”
