GrandStadium.TV, a website featuring high school sports coverage from high school students, is teaming up with CatchitKansas, KWCH, KHQ and KSTC to broadcast local sports. Students from participating high schools will have the opportunity to produce and shoot coverage of local games and tournaments, under the guidance of their journalism teachers. The partnering stations will then broadcast a portion of the coverage, and GrandStadium.TV will provide the rest on a pay-per-view basis.

In the past, GrandStadium has worked with students, athletes, and faculty in the Kansas High School Association, as well as the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL).

“As the broadcast home of Minnesota championship tournament coverage, we’re pleased to be able to offer free webcasting of the many high school sports and activities sponsored by the MSHSL,” says Susan Wenz, Station Manager of KSTC. “The precision, skill and enthusiasm from these students and their advisors showed us the power of their commitment and dedication.”

“Our joint broadcast journalism initiative enables schools throughout Minnesota to utilize the expertise of our two partners as students are trained to webcast regular-season games and school activities to their own world community,” says Dave Stead, the Minnesota State High School League Executive Director.
