WDSU Invades Packer Country for NFL Kick-Off

By Andrew Gauthier

With the Saints set to kick off the NFL season tonight against the Packers in Green Bay, New Orleans NBC-affiliate WDSU has rented a house in the shadow of Lambeau Field and anchor Scott Walker and crew have been broadcasting live from the backyard, where they’ve erected a set.

WDSU’s invasion of Packer territory this week has been covered by local NBC-affiliate WGBA (video here) as well as Hearst sister station WISN in Milwaukee.

Walker gave WISN reporter Mike Anderson a tour of WDSU’s “Packer Plex” and talked about what it’s like to work in Wisconsin while having the same name as the state’s polarizing governor.

“Some people won’t call me back, when we’re looking to do stories,” Walker told Anderson. “Or they’ll be like ‘Scott Walker?!’ and I’ll say, ‘No, no, not that Scott Walker,’ I’m just here covering the game” (video here).
