WDRB Adds 6:00 PM Newscast

wdrb_304x200Louisville FOX affiliate WDRB has announced it’s adding a half-hour 6:00 p.m. weekday newscast to its lineup.

WDRB VP and director of news Barry Fulmer said in a statement, “Since adding a 6:30 PM newscast to our weeknight lineup a little over three years ago – and then following that with our 7:00 pm telecast that airs on our partner station, WBKI — we’ve felt the next natural area for expansion would be the 6 PM time slot.”

The announcement came during a ribbon cutting ceremony in honor of the recent 11,000 square foot expansion of WDRB’s downtown Louisville headquarters. The station said it would announce the anchors for the new show in June.

“We’re pleased to be able to say that WDRB offers more local news than any of our market competitors,” said president and GM Bill Lamb. “But far more important to us than quantity is quality.”
