WCMH’s Education Report Includes Spelling Error

By Andrew Gauthier

Spelling errors are bound to pop up during newscasts but it’s remarkable how often they occur on stories dealing with education.

Last week, KNBC misspelled Purdue University on a professor’s dropline as she spoke about how students’ spelling has gotten worse.

And this week Columbus’s WCMH misspelled “proficient” (left) while covering a recent education report showing that students lacked a proficient knowledge of U.S. history. [h/t NewsBlues]
